2. Moreover, God has given him higher and greater Knowledge than this, in that he can penetrate into the Heart of every Thing, and discern what Essence, Virtue, and Property it has, both in the Creatures, in Earth, Stones, Trees, Herbs, in all moveable and immoveable Things; also in the Stars and Elements, so that he knows what Substance and Virtue they have, and that in their Virtue, all natural Sensibility, c Vegetation, d Multiplication, and Life, consist.

Yup. She's holding the dagger in her right hand. And she's wearing a blue dress. And the background is red. And the devil's foot... behind her.

7. Now to speak in a creaturely way, Sulphur, Mercurius, and Sal, are understood to be thus.
S U L is the Soul or the Spirit that is risen up, or in a Similitude [it is] God: P H U R is the Prima Materia, or first Matter out of which the Spirit is generated, but especially the 1 Harshness: Mercurius has a fourfold Form in it, viz. Harshness, Bitterness, Fire, and Water: Sal is the Child that is generated from these four, and is harsh, eager, and a Cause of the Comprehensibility. l) Astringency or Attraction.

"...destructive features, as most Jungians and psychologists are wont to believe and advocate. In "Disciples of the Mysterium" I show that his idea is not absolutely tenable. After all, how can the impulse for individualism arise from an undifferentiated energetic matrix with neither subjectivity nor conscious will? Jungians are not able to satisfactorily solve this puzzle. But it seems obvious where the answer lies. As pointed out in previous chapters, the false image of the unconscious realm carried in most minds is inherited "after" the terrible mother's interference with a fetus's somatic consciousness as it functions on an archaic-magical level. (In other words, she stepped away from them, "disowning" them, breathing "out" rather than interfering in their development. --my words,) This intrusion starts in utero but continues unabated for years thereafter, regardless of the various ways in which a child aggressively resists it. Crucially, since interference begins during preconscious stages, a child inevitably grows to adulthood with unstable and disturbed unconscious roots. He grows and struggles through life without realizing the origin of his existential malaise. We see that it is the presence and mentality of the stereotypical mother which compromises the proto-consciousness and ego-consciousness of a child in relation to its primeval roots. In our opinion and preposterous picture of the unconscious as a potentially alien, foreboding, chaotic and destructive realm."
